  • Knowledge of and experience with ramp and port operations.
  • Experience with TMS systems, preferably Mercury Gate.

Reporting to the Senior Director, Transportation you will oversee the carriers of Weber Logistics in the Pacific Northwest. This will include monitoring carrier performance, tracking and tracing of freight, ensuring timely reporting of issues and ensuring flow of information from the carriers to Weber. In addition to the qualifications listed under The Requirements tab, we're looking for a professional who has:
  • Knowledge of and experience with chassis management programs.
  • Computer proficiency, including MS Outlook, Word, and Excel, as well as payroll and database systems.
  • Experience with refrigerated transportation is preferred.
  • Strong professional communication abilities, including verbal, written, and presentation, with the ability to effectively communicate to all levels within the organization.
  • Solid organization skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, effectively delegating resources, and performing first hand, in order to meet agreed-upon timelines, within budget.
  • The ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivation and a results orientation.
We are an essential business and will expect you to be in the office Monday through Friday. We are taking appropriate precautions to protect the health and safety of all employees. You'll be based in the Kent offices but also will need to travel to the Vancouver, WA office for about two days every two weeks. We'll compensate you for travel.

More about the role
In addition to the responsibilities under The Role tab, you will:
  • Assist with submitting the annual budget for all aspects of carrier operations and adjust expenses to stay within the approved budget.
  • Manage departmental expenditures within agreed budgets.
  • Establish and implement carrier procedures and follow company guidelines.
  • Research carriers and negotiate freight rates as needed and directed by the Senior Director of Logistics.
  • Provide leadership to the logistics team by monitoring performance regularly, providing feedback and coaching regularly, and taking corrective action as necessary.
  • Establish, define and develop standards for department processes being mindful of continuous improvement.
  • Maintain constant contact with internal and external customers.
  • Handle assigned P&L responsibilities.
  • Support the Senior Director, Transportation with other responsibilities.
